Welcome to Brynygwin Country House & Self Catering Cottages.

The two holiday cottages are shown in the first picture, standing together but separated by their 2-foot-thick granite walls, ready for separate or for joint occupation. They are virtually annexed on from the house making a combined booking convenient.

The one-bedroomed Mews (upper set of four pictures, once the brewery, sleeps 2/3), all ground-level, has a living room plenty large enough for a 3rd person’s folding-bed to remain always out in a corner. It has 2 night storage heaters and option of electric radiant or open log fire with logs supplied. With outlook onto its shrub-surrounded garden, it has been justly likened to a ‘bird-hide’ (the bird on the Activities page was taken from the Mews). Dog-owners too appreciate the modern fitted kitchen opening into this secure garden. The fully tiled bathroom has an electric shower over its cast-iron bath, and is next to the double bedroom with pine bed and matching light wood-finish furniture.

The three-bedroomed Ty Clyd (lower set of four pictures, once the stables, sleeps 5/6) is Welsh for ‘cosy house’, a name calling for its 2 large storage heaters and its deep-seated, high-backed settees grouped around the shelved alcove. Its single and double bedrooms are upstairs in the one-time, and still round-windowed, hayloft, while the downstair twin-bedded, once harness, room is reached through the conservatory which also leads into the cottage’s small walled garden. Again, there is a fitted kitchen and tidy bathroom with cast-iron bath and electric shower over.

An extra and separate twin-bedded Loft Bedroom, while part of the structure of Ty Clyd, is otherwise totally separate from it, so would go with either cottage. Its access is up stone steps round the corner from, and similar to, the steps showing on the front of the cottages.  The views from its two windows (one, hydrangea-framed, shown one from bottom right on the Home page) are exceptional.
